World number one and the form pick now that Carlos Alcaraz is out, but not without question marks. Sinner swept the spring hard courts and put together a record run of six straight Masters 1000 titles, then suffered a shock second round exit at Roland Garros 2026, losing to Juan Manuel Cerundolo after leading by two sets, citing fatigue and feeling unwell. He has chosen to skip the grass warm ups entirely, with only the Hurlingham exhibition before the Championships. The Wimbledon 2026 draw is out: seeded 1, top half, opening against Miomir Kecmanovic.
Grass and Wimbledon
Defending champion. Sinner won his first Wimbledon title in 2025, beating Alcaraz in the final to become the first Italian man to lift it, and he reached the semifinals in 2023. He also won the grass 500 in Halle in 2024. Wimbledon is the only major he has won away from hard courts.

I won't play any tournament on grass before, most likely. Now I really need some time off, to recover completely, and also mentally, and then be ready to go again for Wimbledon.
