Surging at the right time. Shelton won his first grass title at Stuttgart, beating Taylor Fritz in the final after three set escapes all week, his third title of 2026 across three surfaces. He lost early at Roland Garros and opened his Halle debut against Nick Kyrgios. The Wimbledon 2026 draw is out: seeded 4, opening against Otto Virtanen.

A big serving left hander widely seen as a natural grass talent. He reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2025 and the fourth round in 2024. Stuttgart 2026 was his first grass title.

To play the way I did against the quality of opponents I played in very tight matches and getting a win today against one of the best grass-court players in the world is a huge boost for my confidence. I'm just happy to get my first title here in Stuttgart.
